In reply to the discussion: Bernie Sanders's agenda makes him the definition of unelectable [View all]Prosper
(761 posts)56. Said above:We should have that debate, because the fact is that the United States has never elected
anybody as far left as Sanders. And the United States has never been driven so far right. Trump and Bernie will be saying the same thing in the election campaign. Good paying jobs, healthcare, child care... The only trouble is we have precedence from FDR. All Trump has is lies. Bernie can promise improvement while pointing out the backwards travel of Trump in the same areas. Too many people are dying early from no healthcare, 1.3 Trillion dollar student loan bubble, too many people can't afford medicine, too many people that can't afford copays or deductibles will soon realize that their misery was calculated to subsidize those that could afford. Sorry, but Trump doesn't have a chance in the growing sea of misery filled with right wing bought laws. No, Trump doesn't have a chance against Bernie. And what can a centrist say to the suffering masses other than hang in there and vote for me, I'll see what I can do but you can't be greedy. Those thousands of healthcare deprived that die every month were going to die anyway.
primary today, I would vote for: Undecided

That's not a poll about winning a debate, and the differences are within the margin of error. N/T

I thought it was most important to elect the one with the best chance to beat Trump?

You're correct. How could he possibly be electable in the General Election if he's not a candidate?

You seem to think Bernie has a "base" that's large enough to win a national election,

She did do well. I am disappointed with her that she did not see sanders for who he really is
