(63,344 posts)interaction between Bidend and Flores, and came up with NOTHING to support her story.
Given that Flores claimed Biden put his hands on her shoulders, then moved closer and "inhaled" her hair, then planted a "big slow kiss" on the back of her head...it's very unlikely that NO ONE would have noticed an interaction of this type, given all the people around them, if it had happened the way she described.
I've already said repeatedly that I've been trying to give Flores the benefit of the doubt, and trying not to suggest she simply fabricated the incident as an attack on Biden.
And I'm still trying to give her that much benefit of the doubt.
But now I think that the interaction she seems to be suggesting lasted some time was instead simply Biden responding to her apparent stage fright (she'd suddenly started taking deep breaths as the time for her to go onstage neared, which would suggest either deliberate deep breathing to try to control stage fright or the start of hyperbentilating in a panic attack), and he'd placed his hands on her shoulders in a very standard gesture of reassurance.
I'm beginning to wonder more and more about her description of a "kiss." though.
Obviously it couldn't have been a slow kiss, with all those witnesses around.
At the momeent my best guess is that Biden leaned down to whisper something to her which she didn't hear -- it was probably fairly noisy bacstage at that point -- and she misinterpreted that as him "inhaling" her hair and then kissing the back of her head.
Which, judging by what I've heard this morning, she's now changed to saying he kissed the top of her head. Wording she should have used from the beginning describing the kiss, if it was a kiss. But of course a kiss on the top of the head sounds much more like a reassuring gesture than saying he kissed the back of her head, which would have suggested his lips were closer to her neck, which would have suggested this was more sexual, and creepy.
Anyway, I'm glad that Munoz put out this statement, though I feel sorry for him because Flores put him in this awkward situation. She may have done some damage to Latino politics in Nevada with this.
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden
