(62,176 posts)brilliant politician.
But I reserve the right to point out the glaring inconsistencies in the attack on him, as well as the apparent political motivations behind such attacks, because I do NOT want to see similar smears of other candidates.
One of the things I've found most maddening about this attempt to bring him down was his accusers -- starting with Flores in her initial essay/attack (something I hadn't noticed earlier because I was focused on the first part of her essay, about the incident she alleges) -- dragging in the long-debunked claim that his behavior with Stephanie Carter (while her husband, Defense Secretary Ash Carter, was speaking a few feet away), was inappropriate or creepy. Flores lied outright in saying Biden had nuzzled Stephanie Carter's neck. And in her essay, she called Biden "America's Creepy Uncle." And she did this not long after having complained about media scrutiny of misogynistic behavior in the Sanders campaign, and in her complaint suggested the media focus on other condidates.
This was a vicious attack intended to destroy Biden's political career at a time when he's leading Flores's favorite in the polls, and it should be evaluated as such, and responded to appropriately.
Biden was being gracious, and I'm glad of that.
But I don't think that means what Flores did here should be glossed over.
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden
