This can have a positive outcome for everyone, male and female. It is not uncommon to find ourselves engaging in routine behavior which we believe is friendly, benign, harmless etc without considering how others may respond. God knows I have been made uncomfortable by overly touchy men and women. And God knows I have been called out for my own actions. I recall an incident where I gestured to a coworker by pointing. She was in the hallway and seeing her reminded me that I had something to discuss with her regarding an employee. I pointed at her while saying something like "oh hey Michelle, I am glad I caught you" she called me out for pointing and told me that it was offensive. I certainly didnt mean to offend and I of course apologized while internally feeling quite defensive and embarrassed. In hindsight she was right to ask that I not point at her. I gesture often with my hands because that is just how my family communicates. Just because I have always done this is not an excuse to continue. So, I dont point anymore.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for: Undecided
