In reply to the discussion: Why would Hillary try to kneecap Bernie now? [View all]Rilgin
(800 posts)My point is that every person in the world has people in their past that did not get along with them or have an opinion about them that is less than accurate. I am sure that is true of you and sure its true of every candidate who has worked with people. Do you know Bernie, NO. Do you know the person who wrote the article. NO Do you know the people who are quoted saying bad things about him. NO. When you claim something about someone;s character without any real knowledge based on a few articles during a campaign you are just spreading gossip based on your own biases.
I really didn't want to spend a lot of time researching. Here is an article (unfortunately from Forbes) about attitudes of employees to their bosses. Let me give you a hint, its not always favorable. With a public figure doing things like politicians, every single one of them will have co workers, employees, and peers that have not liked them over time. If you want to do a hit piece on a candidate its easy to find one sided evidence to malign their character. That is my problem with this thread and the daily attacks. Its all by people who don't like Bernie and pretend that its based on fact. Here is one but it would be easy to find more. Look in the mirror and think of your own past. If someone wanted to cherry pick your past, could you put together an article full of quotes from people who have some bone to pick with you, small or big.

Is someone you know shy or stuck up. It depends on who you talk to ALWAYS. Over a person's life, people change and their interactions with people vary. My early girl friends I am sure have different views of who I am then my wife of 30 years and my daughters. We change over time and people always have different perceptions on who you are depending on who they are. You post an article by someone you don't know and call it fact and ignore the fact. You ignore his popularity with other democrats for years. You claim his co-workers cant work with him and ignore his work with the Progressive Caucus and other issues some of care about. Hillary now hits him. I earlier posted an article showing a note thanking him for all his work with you. You don't like Bernie. Others do. Don't like his policies go ahead. Claim that no one will work with him based on the fact that when Bernie was first in congress, he ran into Barny Frank (also with a reputation of being opinionated and stubborn) and a claim by one or more journalists that his co workers don't like him is below you.
You are spreading gossip from articles during a campaign. I am a fan of Elizabeth who you seem to support and she is probably my candidate this year. However, its easy to find articles calling her "cold", "calculating" "school marmish". I am sure you would dismiss these articles because they are in the middle of a campaign where press people have mixed motives. Further they have elements of traditional sexist attacks on women. In Bernie's case, some of the character attacks reference traditional Anti-Semetic attacks on Jewish men.
I hope you actually get the point. Post all you want disagreeing with his policies and favoring policies put out by your favored candidates. Posting character attacks are character attacks no matter how many times you say they are not attacks. These type of attacks are bad politics not good politics.
primary today, I would vote for: Undecided
