In reply to the discussion: Is BS misrepresenting what Biden actually said? [View all]frazzled
(18,402 posts)50. It is absolutely not legislation. It's a "resolution."
Which means it will be voted on as a set of goals to pursue.
The resolution is nonbinding, so even if Congress approves it, nothing in the proposal would become law.

Any aspiration it it would have to separately be given full detail, funding sources, etc. and be enacted into law ... a long and difficult slog indeed.
How can you advocate for something you dont even understand? The ACA was legislation; this is just a Congressional resolution, with no force of law whatsoever. The legislation would have to be enacted for the executive branch to implement it.
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden

I've seen 10-12 minute videos on twitter. But a video longer than 1:14 would belie the bashing.

Well, this was the part where Biden claimed Bernie's plan had no scientific support.

Yes, he did, he was responding to a woman who said "Bernie's plan is pretty impressive".

That's not the point of the highly cropped 1:14 video put out by the Sanders campaign.

Even Sanders doesn't call for zero fossil fuels or zero emissions by 2030. Here's his "plan"...

Yeah, that's a different part of the video. Try 40:00 for the part Bernie clips.

So why would Biden say achieving zero emissions by 2030 can't be done when no one suggests that?

Biden is talking about zero emissions. Where did BS get the part that Biden is talking about him?

It's not legislation, it's a resolution. It has virtually no details or plans.

This just seems desperate and not the actions of a candidate confident in their issues.

I remember that. It showed a complete lack of integrity. Glad it was called-out.
