(8,200 posts)Here is my question. Just how closely and are his ideas with Trump's? In the last election they were virtually identical to Trump's in regard to tariffs and trade agreements. He seems to be at war with the traditional party members who are I would say are more moderate in their views which many regard as a reasonable approach to achieving solutions to the many problems that polarization has made impossible. My views are dependent on what I believe is imperative and that is gaining the support of the Independents. I have to admit that even though I voted primarily for Democrats I was an Independent until Carter ran and I was totally turned off by the lawless of that had gripped the Republican Party in which has become mired. I actually believe that the Republican Party must be totally exposed and destroyed.
