Democratic Primaries
In reply to the discussion: I don't understand why Buttigieg isn't the centrist replacement for Biden instead of Bloomberg. [View all]MBS
(9,688 posts)1. Bloomberg is 77 years old. Sorry, but age really does matter in this election. Facing the holy mess and unprecedented crises that will greet the next president will face on every front will require stamina, energy, and fresh ideas, and the ability to think on your feet. Taking on a job like this at this time in our history at age 77 or 78 is just a no in my book (And, yes, I feel this way about Biden and Bernie, too).
2. By skipping the 4 early primaries, campaigning solely via TV ads, and "self-funding" his campaign (translation: buying the election), Bloomberg shows a fundamental disrespect for voters and the primary process. He's lost me on this issue alone.
3. Bloomberg is a Republican.
4. Buttigieg is superior to Bloomberg in almost every way and he is running a brilliant campaign.(See the Vox.com piece I posted elsewhere in this forum (https://www.vox.com/2020/2/4/21121636/pete-buttigieg-beat-trump-win-2020-election-primaries?)
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden
