I believe that might be right, and the primaries could collapse down to a 2 person race.
But Bloomberg's entry into the race complicates and possibly stops that process.
If Bloomberg garners significant delegates that mean neither Biden nor Buttigieg would single-handedly own the moderate wing. Even if he doesn't win himself, he might stop either Joe or Pete from gaining enough momentum to consolidate leadership of the moderate wing,
And the longer the race stays one among multiple candidates, the longer Warren can hang in and divide the progressive wing with Sanders.
Time will tell.
