2. They're not very good questions

Some of them are hypothetical with scant details
some of them are too simplistic

for example:
"Would you continue the personal diplomacy President Trump began with Kim Jong-un?"

Does that really require an answer?

another example:
"Regarding possible future military action against Iran, is there any type of response that is off the table for you?"

That question is so broad and simplistic and why should he telegraph what he might or might not do and under what conditions? It's toying with hypotheticals which just leaves him open to twisting his positions.

His non answers suggest to me that he really understood the questions and the folly of trying to answer them. Some of them might require a chapter to explain various scenarios, conditions or details.
