Democratic Primaries
In reply to the discussion: Brutal Biden ad against Mayor Pete. [View all]BlueWI
(1,736 posts)Biden's use of white privilege to imply that the employees were fired due to their race is not a good move. Could candidate Obama have made a claim like that in an ad?
A short ad is a poor way to re-litigate a difficult personnel decision. Upthread there are posts that provide context about these decisions. The ad had no context and oversimplified the factors to weigh in these decisions.
There's also no need to trivialize what local elected officials do. My spouse is one of many local elected officials across the country who strive every day to uplift their communities. No need to trivialize that work. Would it be ok to create an ad where President Obama is pardoning a turkey and say that is typical of his work?
And Biden certainly should highlight his vast experience in government. But there are definitely better ways to do this. And he should emphasize his own vision more under today's changed conditions even from 2017.
I'm not a supporter of either Biden or Buttigieg in the primaries, BTW. I just think that as a favorite in the race, Biden can make his case more respectfully and effectively.
primary today, I would vote for: Undecided
