(4,341 posts)He is a progressive who understands that Democracy, Regulated Capitalism, and Social programs that benefit the citizens is what will, in fact, make this country truly great.
He has made two mistakes about this socialist stuff, you pointed to one, and the other was, I believe, during the 2016 election when he was asked about it and he said "if you think healthcare for all, and free education are socialist then sure, call me a socialist", but that doesn't make him a socialist and neither that video from 1989. That 2016 answer was a stupid answer, a reactive answer that now he needs to fix.
It is funny how when people bring the Anita Hill fiasco where Biden did not act accordingly to Democratic principles, and when the busing issue that Kamala Harris brought up during the debates, Biden's supporters jump at it saying "that was a long time ago, he has changed his views about it, and with Anita Hill, blah, blah, blah", but bring that Sanders video up any time you can because Sanders is not allowed to have changed in 31 years since he said that.
I repeat, we are only hurting ourselves by bickering about our candidates, and the repubs are loving it. We have incredibly fantastic candidates, all of them are worthy of the Presidency, so lets stop the bickering among us and lets start promoting memes that hurt the con and the thugs in the Senate.
primary today, I would vote for: Undecided
