(2,016 posts)Pete in the debate. It wasn't just a matter-of-fact, or "I'm concerned about this" attitude, as would be appropriate when bringing up a mistake or unpopular view of an opponent. She genuinely looked like she was giddy. It just rubbed me the wrong way.
Also, it was so obviously scripted. While I know they all have planned attacks during the debates, she always seems to be reciting a memorized monologue rather than speaking off the cuff. I think the ability to think and talk "on your feet" is a sign of leadership and intelligence. I am not saying Amy is not intelligent, just not on as high a level as someone who is able to do these things. She read her entire post-NH speech from notes on Tuesday night. It seems like that type of a joyous 'we did better than expected' speech could be at least partially organic.
