Democratic Primaries

(761 posts)for McGovern but demands Bernie. The economy. 1972 was the pinnacle along with 1973 of the FDR happy days are here again prosperity. I worked in a coal mine in eastern Ohio. The parking lot was loaded with 1972 cars. Young kids just graduating from high school could get married and live on their own. But what went along with the prosperity was complacency. When people make good money it is hard to sell them anti-depression/recession insurance. I was a grievance commissioner, safety committee official and secretary treasurer. Times were great and lots of high paying jobs were everywhere. Companies valued workers and troubles were few and far between. A lot of people felt like they didnt need the Unions or McGovern. 48 years later and the US doesnt even rank in the top 10 for any metric measuring livability or affordability or quality of life. It is now more like 1928. Some people are living great all the while denying the huge stock market bubble. The fed is pouring hundreds of billions of dollars into the stock market trying to keep it from crashing while the DOW counts those billions as positive market growth and stability. Bernie or somebody like him is desperately needed to get money into the spending hands of the poor. McGovern was not needed when he ran in 72. He would be a landslide winner in 2020.
primary today, I would vote for: Undecided
