Democratic Primaries
In reply to the discussion: With total respect, Bernie supporters haven't got a clue. I know because I supported McGovern [View all]Bradshaw3
(7,964 posts)You may have "supported" him but you obviously don't remember anything about that race. We knew in advance he was going to lose (so did McGovern by mid-fall) and by a big margin after the Eagleton debackle. All you offfer are a bunch of unsubstantiated claims (albeit written with overweening self-assuance, although I'm not sure why) and terrifying numbers from the 1972 election, as if that proves your point. As others pointed out in this thread this is NOT 1972 and the polling is way different from back then.
There was also a war and an angry electorate that took their anger out on McGovern and the hippies. This is a completely different electorate, that may be angry, but more people are angry at drumpf than any Dem.
BTW if you are going to name-call a candidate for the Democratic nomination, at least learn how to spell the slur. Or maybe you were inferring that Bernie is loose (which could be good for a candidate).
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden
