Democratic Primaries

(713 posts)I agree with everything you just said. They are going to throw the word "socialist" at Sanders, and Trump has already used the smear word "communist", but Sanders is not that. He is a Democratic Socialist which is capitalism with regulations and a strong program of government social services, as you point out. They smeared Obama also, and yet he still won.
I also agree that we are "eating our own". It is funny to see some people at DU who used to complain that Bernie did not support Hillary enough after she got the nomination, and now those type of folks are deriding Sanders when he seems to be leading the current Democratic field. So "do as we say, not as we do".
I voted for Hillary in 2016 and prayed that she would win. I would suggest that those who are not Sanders fans at least say that they will vote for him in the General Election if he wins the nomination. I myself will support whoever wins the Democratic Primary. I urge everyone else to make the same pledge, whether it is Bernie, Bloomberg, Mayor Pete, Amy Klobuchar, Elizabeth Warren, etc. We must defeat Trump at all costs, whoever the nominee ends up being. It does not help us to chop down the candidates that are running.
primary today, I would vote for: Undecided
