(2,732 posts)And he had a great platform. But he also had a big gap between His idealism and how to make it work. That's the difference - Sanders has been in service for decades and he has clear explanations on how he can make his plans work.
He also knows who the assholes are that will try to stop him, and they are all big money entities who want to keep making big money. So they throw the word "Socialist" at him and frame the word as an anti American smear.
Far from it - to begin with "We the People of the United States --", precedes "Government of the people, but the people, for the people" Clearly declare that the government is to serve for the betterment of all Americans. Certainly not for big business. Certainly not for the rich few who can buy their way into power. Sanders wants a return to those days when government served its citizens. This is sort of like the days of the 1920's when the rich ran the country and it took a lot of work and literal bloodshed to regain control from the robber barons. Sanders sees this as does the younger voters who are sick of corruption. They see the GOP destroying their future.
It could be a toss up between Sanders and Warren - to me they are peas from the same pod. But I think Sanders' decades of experience tips the scales. A Sanders / Warren ticket would be incredible.
