In reply to the discussion: With total respect, Bernie supporters haven't got a clue. I know because I supported McGovern [View all]Stuart G
(38,726 posts)....If Bernie is the nominee, he will have to defend the "socialism" that is his history. Bernie may deny that or may try to educate the electorate on what "socialism" is. When Bernie starts defending this, he will get into a discussion that will fail. The reason I wrote this is because Bernie feels like McGovern felt in spring of 72. A so called outsider, who can change the show.
....Bernie presents himself in a way that McGovern did. A person with the "answers." I don't believe he will win, but that is my opinion. I was wrong to use the word, "clueless." Hard to describe what that feeling is other than to say McGovern/Bernie are outsiders going to change the system. Both have/had good ideas and a history of trying to change the system. Both have nation wide recognition and visibility. Both were/and are widely supported. It is February and a lot can happen in 8 and half months. If Bernie is our nominee, I will vote for him and support him as best I can. Hopefully, no matter who is the nominee, Trump will lose and the Democrat will be the next President of the United States.
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden
