The liberal Sun would no longer exist without the operating agreement with the Review Journal which preceded Adelson's ownership by decades. Adelson would have put the sun out of business by now if not for the court-mandated operating agreement. Adelson and the Review Journal are now in court trying to void the agreement.
Operating agreements like this are common in a world dominated by Hearst papers and are the only reason many smaller liberal papers still exist.
