(114,695 posts)The Orange Blob was a monkey wrench into their entrenched party structure.
Sanders sees himself as a Molotov cocktail into ours.
When you look at the party over the last 40 years (and more), you notice the leadership took a definite jump to the right. While they weren't as crazy as the GOP at any stage of the game, they did make themselves far less attractive to most people. They also started and followed the insane policy of supporting candidates in the safer districts instead of backing people who might have had a shot at unseating some of the real crazies, had they enjoyed support.
Don't forget, Koch money was funding the conservative wing of the party.
Personally, I find this year's run a bit excessive, 2016 saw most of his policies adopted. I doubt Warren would have much of a chance had he not blazed that lefty trail. Also, Klobuchar isn't nearly as conservative as she comes across, her voting record is quite impressive.
Bottom line, don't waste your time on misreading tweets and hating candidates over them. It's self defeating.
Quote them as accurately as possible and remember, we're in for a wild ride of hacked accounts and Deep Fake videos this time. Putin will be up to his usual tricks and Farcebook wiill be chockablock full of deceptive bullshit.
primary today, I would vote for: Undecided
