My immediate thought when he gave that answer was that he's out of touch with today's issues and made a BIG mistake by dissing today's progressives. I think it will hurt him in the debates when he will least expect it to. I'm an old lady and have always been a Roosevelt-style liberal with progressive social views and Keynesian economically, and I loved Obama.But I no longer have any patience for neoliberal or "centrist" econoomics -- they're just a different way of saying trickle down. And a middle of the road approach to climate won't save the planet.
