(3,032 posts)Biden can win, we must select Biden does nothing to further Biden's cause. It has the weight of opinion.
"Now try to consider the appeal each of our candidates has for those areas" isn't an argument either. ALL of our candidates have a reason why they will win those states. Why is Biden's claim superior?
For Buttigieg, for example, I would argue that a popular midwesterner would appeal to the switch voter with his rhetorical style that invites, rather than condemns the Trump voters who are dissatisfied. Additionally, His military service, will be popular in these states because they have sacrificed many sons and daughters to the war effort.
Klobuchar comes from Wisconsin, a border state to Michigan. An argument can be made that she has midwestern appeal as well.
Bernie Sanders has won the most votes in Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania, winning Michigan and Wisconsin and garnering 45% of the primary vote in Pennsylvania in 2016. You could argue that gives him reason to claim he will do well there.
Kamala Harris is known in Wisconsin, having campaigned there for Democratic U.S. Sen. Tammy Baldwin. You can argue Harris helped Baldwin achieve her landslide win in 2018.
Trump trails behind Sanders and Warren in Wisconsin polling. Either of them can beat him there.
AND SO ON...
Why would Biden win? Because we need to win is just not the answer to that question.
primary today, I would vote for: Undecided
