(25,518 posts)For instance, I would never excuse Bernie by saying, "he's already released his 2014 tax return, so he shouldn't have to release his more recent tax returns." No, I think all candidates need to be transparent with primary voters and I expect Bernie to adequately comply and show the amount of taxes he paid.
But, to similarly expect all candidates to release other important information, say, like the transcripts of all speeches they've given, regardless of the audience, private or public, paid or unpaid - to see what political positions they've expressed and, thus know how reliable of a candidate they are - and, whooooaaaa, look out... all hell breaks loose!! Suddenly transparency is no longer REALLY all that important. No, instead, it's "Bernie-boating," full steam ahead... it's only what is BERNIE hiding in his tax returns or some other such wild accusations!!
Meanwhile, Bernie will soon be releasing his boring tax returns and then it'll be time to move on to the next "flavor of the week" to unfairly bash him over.

Bernie & Elizabeth 2020!!!
Welcome to the revolution!!!
primary today, I would vote for: Undecided
