(27,393 posts)his negative remarks against Democrats, his history of making positive comments about communist and marxist leaders, his claiming to be a Democratic Socialist, his yelling, wild eyed, arms flailing. finger pointing speeches, his divisiveness, his offensive and argumentative spokespeople (e.g.: Nina Turner), the Bernie Bros, whether he has any control over them or not, they are a result of his rhetoric.
These, as well as his more liberal positions, are all turn offs to the middle of the road independents and conservatives we need to vote for a Democratic president this year. So while he may be polling ahead of Trump on a National basis, as we found in the 2016 election, total popular vote does not translate into a win. He has to win the purple states' electoral votes. Not sure he will be able to do that for all the reasons I stated above. Also the "young" vote cannot be counted on either. In 2016 we thought we had the young vote because of the turnout at rallies, but then they didn't show up to vote.
Joe Biden while not the most dynamic candidate, is a safe vote for those Independents and Republicans that want to see Trump out of office. He is a known quantity, a uniter not a divider. We need him to bring stability back to our Democratic Republic and right the "Ship of State". If he brings along a dynamic VP with Presidential potential I believe we would have the win and a big win at that.
I frankly would have preferred Warren or Klobuchar, but have resigned myself to the fact America is not yet ready for a female president.
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden
