Democratic Primaries

(1,284 posts)CA got rid of that decades ago sadly.
Our recent budget problems were largely a GOP creation. We even had the GOP house minority leader tell us in public that he would rather see the state burn down than see democrats remain in power.
That happened when we had a republican governor, too. We had a supermajority requirement on our budget & many GOP'ers refused to pass any budget.
That meant we owed more & more money because each day without that budget cost us millions. Teachers got red card notices in the spring & didn't know if they'd have their job back until fall.
Public workers were paid in scrip that no one anywhere would accept as payment.
Kids rotated standing in classrooms, packed in like sardines.
That is in our rear view, though. We got rid of that supermajority requirement and our financial house has gone swimmingly ever since (knock wood).
We do have a surplus, now--a nice, lovely, you can sleep better at night surplus.
Now we need to help all of the Americans who are sleeping on our streets because the American economy is going so good ?
Somebody has their numbers crossed.
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden
