(37,103 posts)My experience with the THOUSANDS of Ph.D scientists with whom I've worked in my career is that some of them are very impressive people with broad insights and fabulous skills.
Others somehow slugged through graduate school, somehow wrote a thesis of no real import, but still leave one wondering how they learned to work a doorknob.
Usually those in the latter class have to tell me about their academic credentials since the are in no way obvious from the "thoughts" they express.
If one has listened to a guy like the appalling Senator Sanders for decades, and can't inform someone of a single point wherein he has done what all good scientists do, that is change their mind based of evidence, one is probably one of the many Ph.D scientists one meets who are simply narrow thinkers.
The world has spent two trillion dollars on so called "renewable energy" - solar and wind - in the last ten years. This took place on a planet where two billion people lack access to improved sanitation. Quick Dr. So and so, is the rate of destruction of the planetary atmosphere accelerating or declining?
Sanders doesn't know shit from shinola about climate change, and his embrace of ideology from the 1970s is destructive. Less intentionally destructive than Trump's, but destructive all the same.
This planet is dying, and repeating Amory Lovins horseshit is a weak minded response.
If one keeps up with the scientific literature one can find out a lot. This doesn't in my case, allow to much time for embracing pablum.
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden
