and were willing to compromise. I'm not sure what you mean by left of where they governed. Neither campaigned on free health care for all and neither tried to impose it. They both knew it couldn't work in the USA.
Clinton did campaign on lowering taxes and he had to raise them. That's called being fiscally responsible.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden
