Prouty was an insider. Most of the book though has little to do with JFK and more with what was going on throughout central and south America. I think he wrote the book because he was an Air Force colonel and resented the fact that the Air Force "became a taxi service for the CIA".
Many here don't want to hear what you are saying. I was slammed by a few folks like you were, well not nearly as hard and not nearly as many, but was told I was an idiot because I was saying that gas prices here were low and the Saudis were allowed to tie their currency to the dollar partly to bankrupt Venezuela. Before Venezuela went bankrupt. The goal is no left leaning government to compete with US influence in this region, and gain control of the oil in south America.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for: Undecided
