Democratic Primaries
In reply to the discussion: Sanders-supporting journalist warns the Democratic Party will be ripped apart "permanently" [View all]The Velveteen Ocelot
(131,261 posts)6. I am getting so sick of this shit.
The so-called "party elites" - that is, the superdelegates - consist of elected Democratic officials: Senators (including Bernie), representatives, governors, state elected representatives, Democratic constituents such as organized labor, and current and past Democratic presidents and vice presidents. AOC and the rest of the "squad" are superdelegates, as are many other Sanders supporters who currently hold state or federal office. And Bernie agreed to the rules about superdelegates' votes: If no candidate has a majority after the first ballot, the superdelegates vote. Don't like the rules? Don't play the game.
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden

They don't want to abide by the rules all candidates agreed to, and then threaten that

Anybody got a map? I can't find the "corporate wing", the "establishment", nor the "elites".

Isn't it funny that that's the label they gave to Sanders and the progressive wing of the party.
