(13,487 posts)Lets assume that Biden gets in the race and wins the nomination, not a given by any means, but someone other than Sanders. Bernie knows that this is his last chance, and he is wedded to his own ideas rather than what is best for the Democratic Party.
I dont think Bernie will win California or the early primaries in the south. If Bernie falls enough behind other candidates, he will once again claim that the Democratic Party is against him and he will believe that he can win over Trump as the first independent because he has a substantial numer of supporters and a lot of campaign cash. He then splits the vote and we get four more years of Trump.
If Bernie wins the nomination, I will certainly vote for him and encourage everyone I know to do the same. But the uncertainty around Bernie and his Bernie or no one supporters is greatly concerning because this country will be irrevocably damaged by Trumps reelection.
