The Voter Study Group has brought together analysts from across the (rational) spectrum to provide conclusions they can agree on and seems to be pretty well regarded.
Here are some of their reports, very interesting stuff. They found, for instance, that religious voters average more supportive of diversity and immigration than secular voters. In spite of the religious far right, not all that great a surprise when you think about it. I was just visiting with a neighbor where we used to live who's both conservative and very religious, attending church groups at least a couple times a week, and is very decent and principled. Her church teaches that as doctrine.
