I do not support Bernie, not because I don't like his policies, but because I do not believe that Bernie is capable of delivering on any of it. In fact, I believe that with Bernie as the nominee, not only would we lose the Presidential race but we would lose congress as well. And if that happens, we are going to accelerate going in the exact opposite direction of where Bernie wants to take us.
Even the last couple of weeks, as the front-runner he had a significant opportunity to show he could build coalitions to get things done. Instead, he chose to repeatedly attack the democratic party-the party who's stand-bearer he would need to be as the nominee.
Politics is basically the art of compromise. No one is able to get everything, or even close to everything, that they want. You need to be able to build relationships and coalitions to get things done. Even AOC, who has been in politics for less than 3 years, shows signs of understanding that. Yet, Bernie with a 30-year congressional career does not understand how DC works. He thinks of himself as a revolutionary figure- but there cannot be a 1 man revolution at the ballot box. You need support from others to get it done.
This is basically why I can never support Bernie. If he turns out to be the nominee, I will vote for him but I cannot get enthusiastic about his candidacy.
primary today, I would vote for: Undecided
