I find youth seems to mix up Boomers with our parents generation.
My generation was totally disenfranchised.
War was killing us, young people, and we were running and, at the time, ruining our lives to Canada. Luckily later we were given amnesty.
Those that served in the VietNam war still suffer long term effects of it.
Students were regularly tear gassed, arrested or worse.
Around 1984 we had a recession when our first mortgage interest was 14%. Thats when we were newlyweds.
In 2009 I lost my job in that recession. By that time I was old and couldnt find a job for years because the youth could work cheaper than us old folks who had mortgages and car payment.
The period from 2009 - 2017 wiped out 3/4 of my personal 401K. I was forced to take early SS which is at least $500 a month less than if I had been able to take it at 66.
Now as retired folks we rent and are on a very fixed income.
So please refrain from your story being significantly different from anyones story.
We all suffer together.
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden
