Those are not "rules" ... I was pointing out serious mistakes/missteps. Simply because certain candidates didn't make THOSE particular missteps/mistakes... that is no guarantee of their success.

Also consider that they made other mistakes that are not listed here. Also consider their personality, demeanor, experience, attitude and temperament, gender, sexual orientation, age ... whether fairly or unfairly, many many things influenced voters perceptions and acceptance (or rejection) of those candidates you named.
