(12,847 posts)For 2 reasons:
1) In my view, 80 is too old for the extremely demanding job of president. Condemn me for "ageism" if you like, but I think decline is an inescapable biological fact.
2) I vowed to never, ever, in a Democratic primary support a candidate who in 2002 voted to give GW Bush authority to invade Iraq. We here at DU knew the case for war was fraudulent, that once given the authority the PNACers would invade, and that it would open a pandora's box of horrors. Good judgment in these matters is paramount for a president. Our country desperately needed strong Democratic leaders to speak truth to power against this criminal war of choice. I was especially disappointed with John Kerry, who rose to prominence as a leader of Vietnam Vets Against the War. Nevertheless, I helped get out the vote for Kerry in the general election and I will support the nominee no matter what.
I believe we have several awesome Democratic candidates who can beat the piece of human filth who occupies the White House, and I have doubts that Joe Biden is the most likely to succeed.
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden
