Democratic Primaries
In reply to the discussion: Elizabeth Warren was, in my view, a victim of two things. [View all]BusyBeingBest
(9,173 posts)Being female didn't hold her back from being nominee. Some bad campaign decisions did, coupled with shaky political skills. She went full wonk, and total woke--almost to the point of parody (a transgendered kid picking your secretary of education? Really?), and right there some people tune out. She didn't have her M4All plans ready to go when the spotlight was on her as front-runner. Her attacks on other candidates sometimes worked, and sometimes bounced back and hit her in the face really hard (wine caves). She always came off as energetic, but sometimes people don't respond well to that. Sometimes she came across as scolding or sanctimonious-- Bernie and Pete could too, so not necessarily a female thing. Sometimes she was unfairly ignored, that I will give you. She didn't always get the media coverage other candidates got, and media coverage is key.
primary today, I would vote for: Undecided
