In reply to the discussion: Why are there Bernie Sanders supporters with Elizabeth Warren in the race? [View all]customerserviceguy
(25,406 posts)First, it is important to the Bernie-bots that Bernie himself is personally redeemed by getting the 2020 nomination that was unfairly denied to him in 2016 by all of the Clinton machinations that were exposed (maybe partially!) by Wikileaks.
Second, Sen. Warren really shot herself in the foot over the whole "Indian ancestry" thing. She did her DNA test result release as the country was approaching the midterm election, and that took focus away from the cause. Also, she clung to the story of her smidgen of Native heritage from an analysis that showed her as being one tenth of one percent Native at best. Then, the form from the Texas bar emerged, where she said her heritage was "American Indian", although she's whiter than most white people in America.
Sanders didn't pretend to be anything other than he wasn't. Not a high qualifier, but in some folks' eyes, it makes him appear more honest.
As for the "much more personable", I have commented on another thread about what I feel about that, and for the sake of this post, I am not going to repeat my remarks, lest it be censored the way the other one was.
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden
