"Extraordinary sense of entitlement to women's service" behind pressure on Warren to back Sanders [View all]

The words in quotes above are from a tweet by a feminist author commenting on the attacks on Warren by Sanders supporters who were upset with her for doing a skit on SNL even though -- gasp -- she hadn't endorsed Sanders.

I referred to the tweet in another thread about this

https://www.democraticunderground.com/1287646949#post18

because it echoed what I'd said in another reply there that I'd just posted, about my impression some Sanders supporters had just viewed Warren as Sanders' helpmate.

I got a number of replies to my link to the tweet, including one saying it should be an OP, which is why I'm posting this.

Here's the tweet, from author/professor Kate Manne:

If I was a columnist, I would write a piece today about the extraordinary sense of entitlement to women's service that begrudges Hillary Clinton a walk in the woods on November 10 2016, or Elizabeth Warren a lighthearted skit on SNL in lieu of devoted instant kowtowing to Bernie.

As many DUers know, Warren not only came under fire from many Sanders supporters for appearing on SNL -- which supposedly somehow made Medicare For All. etc., much less likely because she wasn't endorsing Sanders immediately and out campaigning for him -- but AOC also came under fire for NOT criticizing Warren for this.

The criticism of those two women said a lot of things about the Sanders supporters going after them.

None of them good.

Fortunately not all Sanders supporters are like this, as I'd noted in my earlier reply in that thread about the view of Warren as just Sanders' helpmate.

But, as with Sanders supporters causing trouble online in other ways, the ones showing the bad behavior tended to be most obvious.

And they needed to be called out, and the flaw in their reasoning exposed.

Kate Manne's tweet did so perfectly.
If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden
