Showing Original Post only (View all)"Extraordinary sense of entitlement to women's service" behind pressure on Warren to back Sanders [View all]
The words in quotes above are from a tweet by a feminist author commenting on the attacks on Warren by Sanders supporters who were upset with her for doing a skit on SNL even though -- gasp -- she hadn't endorsed Sanders.
I referred to the tweet in another thread about this
https://www.democraticunderground.com/1287646949#post18
because it echoed what I'd said in another reply there that I'd just posted, about my impression some Sanders supporters had just viewed Warren as Sanders' helpmate.
I got a number of replies to my link to the tweet, including one saying it should be an OP, which is why I'm posting this.
Here's the tweet, from author/professor Kate Manne:

If I was a columnist, I would write a piece today about the extraordinary sense of entitlement to women's service that begrudges Hillary Clinton a walk in the woods on November 10 2016, or Elizabeth Warren a lighthearted skit on SNL in lieu of devoted instant kowtowing to Bernie.
As many DUers know, Warren not only came under fire from many Sanders supporters for appearing on SNL -- which supposedly somehow made Medicare For All. etc., much less likely because she wasn't endorsing Sanders immediately and out campaigning for him -- but AOC also came under fire for NOT criticizing Warren for this.
The criticism of those two women said a lot of things about the Sanders supporters going after them.
None of them good.
Fortunately not all Sanders supporters are like this, as I'd noted in my earlier reply in that thread about the view of Warren as just Sanders' helpmate.

But, as with Sanders supporters causing trouble online in other ways, the ones showing the bad behavior tended to be most obvious.
And they needed to be called out, and the flaw in their reasoning exposed.
Kate Manne's tweet did so perfectly.
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden

Agree. My view is who the heck is Bernie Sanders to demand such loyalty from Elizabeth Warren?

yes, the misogyny is truly disgusting, and that's coming from a man who in 30 years achieved

"His followers see something in him that other people do not." That's an understatement.

I have to wonder if those are real Bernie supporters or some outside force trying to sow discord.

Biden's camp seem to feel entitled to Warren's endorsement so they can pressure Sanders to get out.

????? What "article in the original post"? I referred to a tweet and two replies in another thread.

Okay. Thanks for explaining. There was nothing in that feminist author's tweet, though,

It's unfortunate that it appears some Sanders supporters let their passion overtake them.

Sanders' camp seemed to feel entitled to pressure Warren to quit much earlier and endorse Sanders.
