(26,363 posts)to be ... what if you don't dispose of any short term and/or long term capital gains items during this period of time? Then your 10 years of tax returns won't show anything, other than perhaps some residual income or 'normal' income if you have any.
If you were a beneficiary of a trust fund (sole beneficiary of a trust that has millions in assets), and the income of this trust fund is reported on a separate tax filing (and not yours), and you are living in a home that the trust funds supports and pays for, where is the so called income used to support the home that one lives in, reported (that is, the housing benefits etc.), after all, you (if you're living there), are the beneficiary of the payments? Perhaps in a separate tax filing that the trust fund and/or the attorneys administering the estate provide?
Perhaps more than just tax returns are needed is all I'm saying.
