Democratic Primaries
In reply to the discussion: Worrying trend with Senator Sanders' supporters [View all]Amimnoch
(4,558 posts)expect us to be totally okay with not being able to count on his supporters.
I'd like to see a poll on how many of us lifetime Democratic Supporters are now in that same camp of preferring Cheetolini over Sanders now. We'll never really know here, because nobody is allowed to say it by TOS (which is fair, board owners set the rules, and we agree to follow them). I don't really rub elbows in "independent" circles, but the circles I do socialize in, there's a growing number of long time Democratic Party supporters that are starting to fall into the any of our candidates but Bernie or bust, and would rather either not vote at all, and some cases even going as far as promising to throw in for the Cheeto if he's our candidate.
If it's fair for his supporters to be out of play for our candidates if he doesn't win the primary, why is it so unfair that some of us will not support him?
He can count on us if he wins the nomination, but we can't count on a chunk his supporters if he loses? fuck that noise.
This is extra ironic that this is being posted at the exact same time as the thread "The Impotence of "Stop Sanders" Democrats" is trending on this board. Another thread where they feel they can tooootally count on us, but use that veiled threat that we can't count on all of them.
primary today, I would vote for: Undecided
