(26,677 posts)I think he's referring to the "burn the house down" mentality, which is true of a portion of Bernie voters in 2016. Look at how divisive Bernie/Hillary was here at DU, for example. JPR ensued.
Not everyone believes free college is achievable, at least not with the costs that will be associated with it. Pete says he doesn't want the working poor to face higher taxes so that university grads who go on to high-paying occupations get to enjoy gratis education. He has spoken in favor of expanding the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program and reducing or eliminating interest on student loans.
