(12,328 posts)That's how the Bernie surrogates make me feel. The candidate himself is fine. I agree with many of his positions. They echo positions of the other dem candidates.
About the tribe: It's not about positions, it's about behavior that surrogates and the in-crowd engenders. It's about the tone that Bernie is setting as being part of the Democratic Party. Trump's rhetoric will heat up in the general and the surrogates will join in the pissing match. Who can be the most outlandish? I'll fall in line in opposition to Trump, but not because I have optimism about what's to come. My attitude may change. I hope it changes. I want it to change.
Right now, I don't want to be part of the nastiness and hostility of the surrogates. I'm sick of nasty snipes on Twitter and elsewhere. I tune out most of them, but they are amplified on DU, so I can't help but see the words from the surrogates themselves. I'm sick of typing it (I should put it in my sig), but I will vote for whoever the eventual nominee is.
I want to feel like I am voting for hope and change, not change alone.
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden
