I am shocked that they CAN'T refinance. Maybe there are realities as to why they can't (too large a number of loans all handled by the govt, all refinancing at the same time?), but something can be done about that.

Things like that.

It doesn't seem quite right to reward someone for not paying back a loan that he/she got, and so someone else who also needed it, did not get it. Mayor Pete and someone else had an idea about it that I liked better, though I forget what it was.
