(29,017 posts)The Democratic establishment is "worried the country is ready to return to the New Deal policies they've spent 50 years destroying."
That's right, it was the Democrats, not Republicans, trying to destroy New Deal policies this whole time! I've seen it explained: after McGovern's loss the Democratic Party decided New Deal policies would not win elections for them ever again, began shifting Right. By the time Bill Clinton ran for president the unions didn't have any power or money so he turned to Wall St., abandoning unions and the working/middle classes for the 1%. When progressive legislature is attempted and fails, they are secretly relieved -- they only pretend to support progressive legislature, never fight for it, hate and fear it. (What the Republicans are doing during all of this, they do not say.)
That's why Bernie thinks the Democratic Party is ideologically bankrupt and nobody talked about any progressive issues until he ran for president. It is why only he can save the people from the Democratic establishment.
The End.
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden
