The closest I had to a grandfather finally gave up his license at 99. He accidentally hit the accelerator instead of the brake and got into an accident so everyone in the family insisted he give up his license. He was completely competent mentally and resented riding with anyone else, so when he rode with me, I had to hear about it the whole way, LOL. And his daughter who usually drove him had a handicapped license plate for the purpose, but of course I didn't so got very nervous parking in handicapped spots at his insistence. He was usually one of the kindest people I've ever known.
