Overnight, and seemingly by accident, Mike Johnson has been thrust into one of the most powerful positions in Congress, and only second in line for the presidency. Overnight, this religious right wing fanatic has been catapulted into a position of great power, and the threat or danger to our nation that he poses should NOT be underestimated. I know that many on this site may think that the Republicans are just a bunch of bumbling dolts or idiots, unable to govern. This might be true for many of them, but the installation of Mike Johnson as Speaker of the House might also be part of a larger plot to throw the 2024 election to Donald Trump, and for the MAGA extremists to seize power. Continued vigilance and perseverance are necessary for democracy to prevail - don't relax, or let your guard down, until the fight is won.
