1. Ron Lauder introduced the idea of the US acquiring Greenland to Trump during his first term in 2018.

It's worth noting that cosmetics heir Lauder is also the same person who introduced Trump to Russian ambassador Yuri Dubinin at a New York luncheon in 1986. He's deeply involved in Putin's attempts to influence Trump on both Venezuela and Greenland.

The business plan that was part of Trump's first Peace plan presented to Zelensky last November required Ukraine surrendering territory to Russia including the Donbas. The plan would have awarded licenses for mining and other business development to certain US connected business people. NY Times recently revealed that those business plans included a lithium mining opportunity for Lauder.
