While I was never a fan of Reagan, "the party of Reagan" is the opposite of what it once was. Reagan was a supporter of immigration, acknowledging that this is a country built by immigrants, said so in his speeches, while TFG threatens to deport every immigrant in his recent speeches.

Reagan was extremely tough on Russia (I was there with my grandmother's peace group during his administration) and he made things difficult for Gorbachev who had instituted more progressive policies (glasnost and perestroika - openness) - but in a reaction to Reagan ("Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall!" ) the Soviet hard liners forced Gorbachev to scale those policies back. TFG "loves" murderous dictator Putin, yearns have the same power (and wealth) that Putin does.

And we know that while mass shootings are out of control, TFG supports the NRA - while Reagan joined the living former presidents (Presidents Carter and Ford) in supporting President Clinton in passing the Assault Weapons Ban.

I really don't get it. How can anyone actually support this offensive blowhard - who does nothing but lie and spread violence and hate?? Back during the 2016 campaign I couldn't wait for the election to be over so I'd never have to see or hear from him again...
