I’m still shocked by the results of the 2016 election. I genuinely believed that there were enough sane Republican voters out there who, if they disliked Hillary Clinton, would at least retain enough of their principles to do the Republic a service by staying home.

I’m still hoping for an epidemic of cold, hard sanity to sweep across swing-state and electorates, as viral and contagious as the Spanish Influenza, but I fear my hopes will not be realized.
