We had a class in current events. My teacher required us to read several books on subjects like advertising, psychology, science, nothing too advanced, but I really learned a lot. One of the books was Vance Packard’s “The Hidden Persuaders”. It was about the world of advertising, it was an eye opener. I keep a pdf of it on my iPad. Even today it’s very applicable to the way consumers are persuaded by brands and politicians. I recommend reading it. I’ve applied it to the way I view politics, the way I spend money, a lot of things.
